New head at Motorola
Mobility vendor installs company veteran to oversee networks and enterprise strategy in MEA and Pakistan.
Mobile and wireless communications vendor Motorola has appointed Ali Amer as VP Middle East, Africa and Pakistan for its networks and enterprise division.
In his new role, Amer will be focused on driving sales and business strategies, as well as increasing awareness of new opportunities to increase telephony penetration and bringing the latest technologies to the region. "Motorola networks and enterprise has a long and proven history of working with the leading telecoms operators in the region," said Amer. "With our evolving portfolio of services and solutions, I look forward to leading the team in supporting our customers' strategies for growth in this highly competitive market," he added. Amer, who will continue to be based in Dubai, was previously a senior director of sales for Middle East, North Africa and Pakistan. He led Motorola's business growth across the region and the vendor claims he played an instrumental role in embracing market challenges and managing relationships with key customers.
The new VP has held a number of leadership roles within Motorola since joining the company 18 years ago, including director of sales for the North Africa territory and general manager of Motorola's operations in Morocco.
