“Agilent Technologies Education Tour” a seminar jointly organized by Emitac TMI department and Agilent Technologies, was recently held on 26th April 2010 at hotel Le Meridian, Dubai. This focused seminar show cased cutting edge Test & Measurement solutions for those who are pursuing studies, research in the new area of “Alternate Technologies”.  The seminar was organized against an ideal back drop of immense interest and relevance from large universities and the government.  

Active participations from faculty members from some of the leading universities such as American University of Sharjah, American University of Dubai, Michigan state university Dubai etc…. resulted in a successful event.

Speakers like Dr. Stewart Wilson of Agilent Technologies, Ananda Rangan, Deputy Divisional Manager - Emitac TMI, Mr. Augustin Kodiyan Regional Sales Manager Agilent Technologies, Marlo Manaoto and Dimitris Malsam covered various topics like Nanotechnology, Renewable Energy and Photonics.

Patrick Mulligan joins Emitac Distribution as the new GM

Emitac recently announced the appointment of Patrick Mulligan as General Manager of Emitac Distribution. Patrick Mulligan will be responsible for the management and reporting on all areas of Emitac Distribution’s activities in the region.

In his new role, Patrick will redefine and execute Emitac’s business development strategies, drive Sales Support and Marketing activities and build, maintain and strengthen relationships with vendors and channel partners, to enable successful delivery of the company's Distribution Business.

Patrick has over 25 years of extensive experience in Sales, Marketing, Operations and Business Management. Patrick previously held several senior positions like the Area Director, General Manager and Vice President at Motorola prior to joining Emitac as the General Manager for Emitac Distribution.

As a part of the project, Emitac Healthcare Solutions (EHS) aims to provide the best and safest critical care to the new borns admitted to the hospital’s Special Care Baby Unit (SBCU). The emphasis is on improving quality of care by using evidence based treatment and by regular audit of Health outcomes.

The Hospital’s neonatal intensive care service will soon house and provide continues evidence based modern intensive care treatment including early surfactant replacement therapy, prevention of nosocomial infection, optimal nutrition management and the judicious use of non-invasive ventilatory support. Much focus has been put on improving total patient care including minimum handling and clustering of nursing care.

Apart from providing integrated real-time data on patient’s physiological parameters with diagnostic data, the system would also measure a comprehensive range of parameters, would alert the senior medical staff in case of emergency, aids in prioritization of patient care and improves clinical risk management.

Additionally, Emitac healthcare solutions successfully installed 30 Philips Monitors with central station at Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU), Dubai Hospital

Emitac recently implemented the Datacenter Preparation project for DCCI (Dubai Chambers) in 2009. The project is now in the Handover stage. Apart from Datacenter preparation, Enterprise Solutions also implementing the entire DCCI Core Network & Server Farm Edge Network set up along with their Application load balancing.

The Datacenter preparation for DCCI includes the entire layer “0” preparation which has various components like cooling, power, site preparation; inter rack cabling and fibre network with the state of the art Environment monitoring system and FM200 fire suppression system.

The entire solution for the DCCI Core / Server farm network is designed on Juniper Technology by us and Load balancing on F5 technology. This is one of our greatest reference sites for Network and Security domain when it comes to Datacenter Infrastructure Set Up. Load balancing through F5 technology ensures high availability for DCCI applications by monitoring the health and performance of individual servers in real time.

Digital Consumer Channel (DCC) is the ultimate professional networking event for senior executives belonging to the IT and ICT products retail channel in the Middle East & Africa (MEA) region. It is a focused event for retail executives based on the concept of bringing high-level buyers from emerging markets into productive contact with vendors and distributors. Not only is DCC MEA a powerful business platform, it is also an annual networking function allowing vendors and distributors to meet face-to-face with both existing and potential new retail partners from across the region.

Capitalizing on the opportunity, Emitac Distribution actively participated in this event which was held in Le- Meridian Al Aqah Hotel, Fujairah from the 18th till the 19th of May 2010. It gave the Retail Team at EDL an opportunity to introduce the new General Manager to partners and vendors as well as to explore new opportunities with potential retailers. EDL also took the opportunity to have a face to face interaction with the regional partners enabling them to share their feedbacks and/or concerns hence bridging gaps. The event ended with a Gala Dinner and an award ceremony where EDL was nominated for “Specialist Distributor of the Year” award.
