Al Wathba National Insurance Company (AWNIC) has decided to deploy Nortel and Microsoft’s unified communications solution with the installation to be performed by Alpha Data.

“Alpha Data will be installing the latest in Unified Communications technology at Al Wathba’s head offices. With this core technology, voice and data services will be converged for telephony, email, fax, video and instant messaging making communication far more efficient among employees and their outside contacts,” said Maher Al Abed, senior communications engineer, Alpha Data.

The addition of UC is designed to enable Al Wathba’s employees to improve their productivity and customer service even when working outside the office premises. They can answer calls, send/ receive fax messages, directly from Microsoft Outlook Contacts, Excel and Word.

“Al Wathba National Insurance has a mission to be the choice insurer for the UAE. In line with that, we are consistently developing ideas and initiatives to help provide the most efficient service to our customers. Implementing this technology helps us do just that,” said Azhar Mousa, IT manager of Al Wathba National Insurance Company.

Mousa explained the choice of Alpha Data as a partner saying, “We have dealt with Alpha Data previously for a number of projects and we were and continue to be impressed by their technical knowledge and by their professional service.”
