Nokia has just launched a new service that provides instant access to popular consumer email and IM accounts.

The Nokia Messaging push email service will allow customers to stay connected through Yahoo! Mail and Yahoo! Messenger, AOL Mail, Windows Live Hotmail, Gmail and Google Talk and other email solutions from thousands of ISPs worldwide.

”We believe everybody should have mobile messaging – it’s not a privilege service that’s meant only for a certain segment of the market…We are making mobile messaging an affordable experience for everyone, not just for those with specialized phones designed for messaging, but for everyone with a Nokia device.” said Tom Furlong, senior VP, Consumer Messaging, Services & Software, Nokia.

It can be installed from email.nokia.com for free as a limited-period beta trial but is currently applicable only for Nokia S60 devices such as the Nokia E71 and Nokia N95. Once the application is installed, users have to enter their account email address and password and emails are then instantly pushed to their mobile device.

Instant messaging and support for 40 other Nokia devices will be enabled only by the second half of 2009.

An online portal for Mail on Ovi has also been introduced by Nokia, which will enable PC users to create and access Ovi email accounts with 1 GB of storage space, and gain cross access to other Ovi services using a single sign-on account.

I disagree with Andrews. Just use the built in email client or purchase Roadsync. Connecting to Micosoft Exchange was very easy and works all the time without problems. Manuals how to connect to the mail server can be found all over the web. I also travel in the EMEA region frequently and have no problems at all.
NOT GOOD

Hi guys, just wanted to inform you that I brought the E71 phone from Nokia recently and was not able to use it at all with my companys Microsoft Outlook server, moreover the service from Nokia was very very poor and nobody knows how to set the email.

I travel a lot and need my emails to be on my phone all the time.
So,I changed the phone believe in 2 days to the new Blackberry Bold and it is excellent. Had to sell it at half its price as the resale is very bad.

So, I would suggest everyone to stick with their Blackberry and stay away from these phones..

Thanks..
