Competition in the UAE is ‘inevitable’, according to Gordon Rawling, senior marketing director for Oracle Communications.

Rawling also believes that comparing service offerings, such as the availability of VoIP in Bahrain but not UAE, is not sensible as “every country in the Middle East is starting from a different place in terms of capabilities. It’s not pragmatic to say a country is good or bad,” Rawling commented in an interview with itp.net.

“There’s no perfect competition anywhere in the world and similarly, there’s no perfect regulatory environment in the world,” said Rawling, adding that “competition here will inevitably happen and will drive services and operations to different degrees at different times.”

Oracle Communications is the only enterprise firm with a complete suite of applications for telecommunications companies.

The company attracted 65 new customers in their latest fiscal year and is investing heavily in their Application Integration Architecture (AIA) for large telcos, which provides a framework for integrating vertical applications.
