GITEX Shopper opens for business

His Highness Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority officially opened GITEX Shopper today.

HH Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum toured the event, which is taking place at the Dubai Airport Expo until 24th October.

GITEX Shopper is now its 18th year, and has expanded this year to include gaming showcase GITEX Digital Game World, the Gitex Digital Game Championship 2008 and the Intel Extreme Masters Tournament.

Helal Saeed Almarri, director general of Dubai World Trade Centre commented: “GITEX Shopper has become the most anticipated event for visitors who are keen to avail of the latest launches and fantastic offers made by the retail giants. This year the gaming tournament has certainly revved up the tempo of the Shopper.”

Along with the usual special offers from vendors at the show, this year’s Shopper also features the GITEX Shopper Mega Draw, with every visitor who spends more than AED 500 entitled to enter a draw for prizes in including a Renault Safrane and home theatres systems.

Entrance to Shopper costs AED 20 per person, per entry. Visitors can avoid the queues on-site by booking tickets online through Time Out Tickets.
