ROGER EL TAWIL: Escaping the ‘cube’.

Avaya is focusing on ‘mobility' at GULCOMMS 2008, as the company urges business professionals from across the region to ‘escape the cube' by using mobility solutions to boost efficiency and collaboration.

GULFCOMMS is proving to be the perfect platform for Avaya to demonstrate how its solutions help employees become more productive and collaborative wherever they are located, according to Roger El Tawil, channel and marketing director for Avaya in the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey.

"We are urging businesses to help their employees escape the proverbial ‘cube' and work from any location without compromising on productivity and efficiency. Our solutions are about enhancing the quality of work and providing professionals with the freedom to achieve it and empowering professionals even when they are away from their desks," he says.

Avaya is also showcasing its leading contact centre and IP telephony solutions at GULFCOMMS, where experts will provide a better understanding of how an effective communication system improves the quality of customer service and bolsters operational efficiency.

For example, ‘one-number' accessibility keeps employees tuned into office business even while out of the office. "We have witnessed an increase in attendance at our stand each year we've participated in this show from customers and visitors," says El Tawil.

"Last year we received positive feedback for the solutions we showcased and the real life experiences we extended to our visitors. This year we aim to echo that experience by demonstrating how communications can transcend the confines of the cubicle.

Nidal Abou Ltaif, managing director, Avaya MENA and Turkey, adds that GULFCOMMS is a melting pot of ICT professionals.

"Gitex provides us with a platform to meet with existing and potential customers and partners, forge new business deals and generate new business leads. This year too, Avaya hopes to better understand the needs of our customers and be able to provide them with solutions that change the way they do business," he says.
