HP Middle East has confirmed that its category boss for consumer and commercial products Anil Kumar will lead its PC division with immediate effect.

Kumar replaces the vendor’s former Personal Systems Group chief Serdar Urcar who recently left the region to head HP’s Turkish operation.

Kumar’s new role will involve managing HP’s desktop PC, notebook, workstation and personal devices business in 11 countries throughout the GCC and Levant.

His initial priorities for the next 12 months include deepening relationships with channel partners as well as strengthening HP’s business in the consumer and corporate sectors.

“This will be achieved through the expansion of our store-in-store initiatives across the region so consumers can profit from more hands-on experience especially on our niche products,” said Kumar. “We will continue to expand our presence in Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Levant and focus on improving the ROI for our customers through virtualisation solutions and green PC initiatives,” he added.
