The Abu Dhabi Judiciary Department (ADJD) has taken the initiative to electronically store legal material related to court cases.

Launched in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the Western Region in September last year, it has been revealed that more than 32.3 million documents from nearly 669,000 cases have been archived in the system already.

The Abu Dhabi Judiciary Department aims to convert all its legal material into the electronic system to facilitate the work of not only its staff but clients, lawyers and experts that deal with the Judiciary Department in the emirate of Abu Dhabi.

It’s also an integral move in relation to the e-government drive that’s currently being implemented in government institutions and local departments. The drive was given a major boost last year when the Abu Dhabi government launched the e-Abu Dhabi portal, offering access to more than 500 government services online.

Diskettes are ancient history, and while re-writeable CDs and DVDs offer space and convenience when it comes to data transfers, you can’t beat a high-capacity flash drive for outright ease-of-use.
