BREAKING NEWS :

McAfee develops security for virtualization

By Mark Sutton on Monday, September 29, 2008

McAfee has announced a new product to provide security for virtualized environments,

The McAfee Total Protection for Virtualization solution has been designed to offer security for physical and virtual servers, with added features to cater for virtual machines.

The solution includes continuous anti-virus scanning, including virus scanning and cleaning for offline virtual machines that operates without bringing them online; anti-spyware, host intrusion protection and centralized policy management.

By putting the whole solution under a single management console, and through automation of updates, McAfee says users will have more efficient management of security for virtual environments. The product also includes automated compliance reports and integration with McAfee and third-party compliance tools.

McAfee Total Protection for Virtualization is due to be available from the fourth quarter.
