National Stores LLC will use its time at GITEX Shopper this year to promote a new line of products, spearheaded by a range of new digital cameras from partner Canon.

The firm expects the recently launched EOS 450D and EOS 1000D SLR cameras to be its star attractions at the exhibition. The 450D is currently the highest-end ‘prosumer' SLR model in Canon's product range.

It offers a 12.2-megapixel image sensor that's capable of capturing shots at 4272 x 2848 pixels, features ISO settings of 100 to 1600 and offers a 3" LCD screen. The camera can be purchased in body style only (no lens) or with an 18-55mm Image Stabilizer (IS) lens.

The EOS 1000D is positioned below the EOS 450D, offering a 10-megapixel image sensor that can grab images at 3888 x 2592 pixels and 2.5" LCD monitor. Like all SLR cameras, the 1000D can be purchased as body only or with a kit lens.

In addition to its SLR cameras, National Stores will also have a number of other Canon models on sale including the IXUS 970 IS, 90 IS and 80 IS along with the PowerShot A 590 and A 580. The company will also carry a number of photo printers including the compact Selphy ES -2 and ES - 20 models. A number of Canon's Standard Definition (SD) and High Definition (HD) camcorders are also expected to be on sale at Shopper.

Memory media, card readers and memory sticks will also be on display from vendors such as Lexar Media and Olympus.

National stores has seven stores in the UAE and also sells home electrical appliances from vendors such as Moser, Petra, Karcher and Westinghouse.
