Etisalat has introduced three ePayment packages for e-tailers in the Middle East.

The new packages offer nearly 50% lower transaction charges while a set number of free transactions will also be offered every month in a move to push the service to companies.

Etisalat is also expanding its ePayment services outside the UAE to target e-tailers in Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

Companies can choose from BizDirect, an online direct debit payment service, or the Basic Payment package - a combination of the Etisalat Payment Gateway (EPG) for credit card payments and BizDirect.

The third package on offer, Payment Plus Package, includes both BizDirect and EPG along with a web reconciliation/ reporting service and a web security scan.

'Our new ePayment packages will give a significant boost to eCommerce by lowering the barrier of entry for eCommerce merchants and giving them a secure and efficient ePayment capability at extremely affordable costs,' said Abdulla Hashim, VP of Enterprise Solutions at Etisalat.

The BizDirect service is being offered in the UAE through four banks -Commercial Bank of Dubai, Emirates NBD, Abu Dhabi Commercial bank and Union National Bank.

“The Etisalat payment network is now connected to 6 Acquiring banks and 4 banks on the Bizdirect platform - and the intention is to expand this network to cover all the banks in the UAE, thus creating a seamless payment network for all merchants,” Hashim added.

The Etisalat Payment Gateway processed 1.5 million transactions last year.
