The new display will also be compatible with NVIDIA's stereoscopic 3D technology.

ViewSonic has demonstrated a new prototype LCD display that will run with a frequency of 120Hz.

The new screen will deliver clearer, sharper images thanks to the faster refresh time, which is double the usual 60Hz refresh rate.

The display, which was on show at the NVIDIA NVISION event in the US, will also be capable of showing stereoscopic 3D when used with NVIDIA’s GeForce Stereoscopic 3D gaming technology.

The 22 inch prototype included dual 2 watt stereo speakers and Dual Link DVI digital input, with 3ms gray-to-gray response time, much faster than most displays that are currently available.

Aaron Fright, regional director, ViewSonic Middle East & Africa said: “ViewSonic continues to deliver innovative technology that leads and supports the growing trends and demands in digital entertainment. The 120Hz technology will deliver superb front-of-screen performance and will drive new standards in desktop entertainment igniting the next evolution in digital viewing capabilities.”
