Business continuity solution for Oman Air

Oman Air has appointed IT solutions and service provider Gulf Business Machines to implement its new data recovery system.

The system will ensure continuity of services in the instance of a main IT system failure by duplicating data with real-time backup and secure storage.

“As the Airline business grows ever more dependent on IT services, the need for an alternate data centre with a proper data disaster recovery solution to ensure continuous availability of systems has become very crucial for operations,” said Habib Bhacker Habib, Oman Air’s head of Information & Computing.

“Oman Air has an excellent IT infrastructure, nonetheless they needed a data recovery centre in place to address their growing business needs,” commented Olivier Mouries, general manager, GBM.

Utilizing CISCO Systems networking components, the GBM solution project began late last year and is expected to be fully operational in the next few weeks.
