Searidge Technologies and its partner in the Gulf region, Bayanat Airports Engineering & Supplies LLC, have been awarded a contract by the Abu Dhabi Airport Company (ADAC) to supply the Searidge Technologies IntelliDAR system for advanced surface surveillance.

IntelliDAR, a non-cooperative system, will enable air traffic controllers to have full situational and visual awareness of the airport’s newly constructed runway. It uses a network of digital imaging sensors, coupled with advanced computer vision technology to detect and monitor traffic movements on the airport surface.

“Abu Dhabi International Airport is a growing airport with a passenger-centric philosophy and a goal of providing best of breed systems for our customers. We have chosen the IntelliDAR product, which we believe will provide the best solution for our surveillance needs,” said Massimiliano Dosi, chief operating officer, Abu Dhabi Airports Company.

The system helps to increase the overall safety of airport surface by eliminating blind spots, detecting non-cooperative targets and mitigating the risk of possible runway incursion. IntelliDAR requires minimal site preparation and offers flexible deployment options.

“This is the first contract award for Bayanat Airports Engineering & Supplies and Searidge since our newly formed partnership,” said Mr. Alan Bourjeily, general manager, Bayanat Airports Engineering & Supplies. “We are confident in Searidge as a partner and its technology and are actively pursuing other opportunities in the region.”
