BREAKING NEWS :

Wataniya to list shares in Doha

By Reuters on Wednesday, July 02, 2008

National Mobile Telecommunications Co (Wataniya) will list its shares on the Doha stock exchange soon, daily Al-Qabas said on Wednesday.

Parent firm Qatar Telecommunications Co (Qtel) had decided to list Kuwait's second-largest cell operator in Qatar, after winning the approval from the Qatari government last week, the paper said in an unsourced report.

Wataniya Chief Executive Scott Gegenheimer and Qtel officials declined to comment when newwire Reuters called. Officials at the Qatar Financial Market Authority (QFMA) could not be reached.

Qtel bought Wataniya for $3.72 billion in March last year.
