BREAKING NEWS :

Mena Telecom opens WiMAX network site

By Mark Sutton on Monday, June 23, 2008

Mena Telecom has opened a new WiMAX network centre in Bahrain, that will form the management hub of its country-wide network.

The network site includes a customer call centre and Network Operations Centre, and will be staffed by engineers from Mena Telecom and partner Motorola.

The site was opened by Abdulhakeem Al Khayyat, CEO and managing director of Kuwait Finance House (Bahrain), the parent company of Mena Telecom, and Alan Horne, the general director of the Bahrain TRA.

Al Khayyat said: "Mena Telecom is implementing a WiMAX 802.16e network that puts The Kingdom of Bahrain at the forefront of global wireless technology, and it is only fitting that we have world-class network facilities to guarantee that our customers receive nothing but the best in terms of service, quality and customer care. This centre has been engineered to the highest international standards and we are very proud of what has been achieved.

"This world class facility will be an important centre for operations that will shape, control and constantly improve the performance of all aspects of the network," he added.
