Enterprise mobility provider iPass has signed a deal with Etisalat, to include UAE Wi-Fi hotspots in the iPass Global Broadband Roaming network.

iPass provides a mobility service, primarily to business users, where customers can log on to hotspots and local networks around the world without having to pay local connection fees, and with added security of a VPN connection.

The company already has deals with Qtel in Qatar, Zajil in Kuwait and Batelco in Jordan, but this new agreement will give its customers access to hundreds of location across the Emirates, including airports and hotels.

René Hendrikse, managing director EMEA, iPass said: "The addition of Etisalat to our network is an important boost to the broadband access coverage our customers will receive when travelling to the influential emirates. With over 100,000 hotspot locations to choose from worldwide, iPass users now have more ways than ever to stay productive on the road."

The iPass service, which is available in the region through channel partners, enables users to locate a participating Wi-Fi provider, with the iPassConnect mobility manager software, and then connect when in range.
