Step 1

If you have the habit of pressing Shift + Delete when deleting e-mails, this workshop is for you. Here we show you how to retrieve such e-mails in four simple steps. First up, navigate to Start/Run, type 'regedit' (without the quotes) and hit the 'OK' button.

Step 3

Now right-click the DumpsterAlwaysOn entry and hit 'Modify'. Change the 'Value data:' field to '1' (without the quotes) and hit OK. This will turn on the 'Recover deleted items' menu in Outlook. Meanwhile, setting it back to '0' will turn the menu off.

Step 4

Next, restart Microsoft Outlook. Navigate to the Tools menu and select 'Recover Deleted Items' option. The proceeding window will display a list of recently deleted e-mails. Select the ones you wish to recover and hit the OK button. Hey presto, your e-mails are back in your Inbox!
