The Government of Sharjah has signed a deal with systems integrator NTS to equip its departments with HP printing and scanning systems, in a deal worth more than $270,000. "We are proud to sign this deal for procuring HP high-end printers and scanners for Sharjah Government departments and look forward to commence operations this month onwards," said Ahmed Al Jarwan, general manager for general purchasing and tender management at the Finance Department of Sharjah Government.
"NTS Group is a visionary corporate IT solution partner and understands our needs. This contract is in recognition of its commitment to quality services and consistency in business," he added.
The deal covers all Sharjah government departments, but not Sharjah Municipality. A NTS spokeswoman said the rapid expansion of Sharjah's public operations meant the government needed around 500 new printers and scanners.
Under the contract Sharjah Government will also purchase any additional devices from NTS, until March 2009. The deal also includes a three-year maintenance and consumables agreement.
"We are proud to be the supplier of choice for the largest centralised purchase of printers for Sharjah Government departments. As a customer-oriented business operation, our services and products are always geared towards our client's interests," said Shivkumar Gopal, director of NTS Group.
"This is the second time that the Sharjah Government has centralised all its purchases and we are pleased to have won this contract with HP, which has a complete end-to-end solution in the printing and scanning space," he added.
NTS and Sharjah Government did not disclose the exact value of the deal, but a NTS spokesman confirmed it was in excess of AED 1 million ($272,000).
