Emirates Palace upgrades net connection to extend services

The Kempinski Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi has upgraded its internet connectivity, to meet growing demand for guests and visitors.

The hotel has upgraded from an ATM circuit to Ethernet, going from a single 8MB connection to dual 10MB load balanced links, to provide optimum bandwidth speed.

The upgrade will allow the hotel to provide more robust connectivity and greater bandwidth for its Internet services, which include a hotel-wide wireless network, which covers from pool to guest rooms.

The improved bandwidth will also help the hotel to cope with extra demand for connectivity during events and conferences, and will also allow the hotel to expand its video conferencing services, said Hakam Sourani, director of IT and AV at Emirates Palace. "With a worldwide reputation for excellence and as the leading conference hotel, it is imperative we keep abreast of the latest developments and offer our guests the most advanced options available," said Sourani.
