BREAKING NEWS :

Call of Duty 5 being developed for all platforms

By Jason Saundalkar on Monday, May 12, 2008

Activision has confirmed that its forthcoming first-person shooter (FPS), Call of Duty (COD) 5, is being developed for a cross platform release.

The game is being designed for the PlayStation3, Xbox 360, Wii, Nintendo DS and PlayStation 2 gaming consoles, and will also available on PC. Its predecessor, COD 4, was released for the PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo DS only.

Activision has said that this new COD game will be based in a new military theatre and is expected to be launched within the company's current fiscal year, which ends in March 2009. COD4 was released globally in November of last year and stood as the first title in the series that wasn't based on the World War II theatre.

Activision's Middle East partner, Red Distribution, did not release COD4 in the Middle East region due to game content that was deemed "sensitive" for this region.
