Nokia opens Jordan office

Nokia has opened an office in Amman, Jordan, to better support its operations in Levant and to expand its presence in the region.

The company expects global mobile subscriber numbers to reach four billion by 2010, from three billion today, with over one quarter of the extra billion subscribers coming from the Middle East and Africa region.

The Nokia office in Amman will work to bring more localized products to consumers in Jordan, and to promote Nokia's products in general.

Haisam Jamal, general manager for Nokia Levant said: "We are very excited about the opening of the new office in Amman as it marks an important step forward for Nokia's operations in Jordan and the Levant region. Given the tremendous potential in Jordan, where business is thriving and the need for connectivity is growing by the day, we are confident that our new set-up in Amman will serve to reinforce and strengthen Nokia's strong network of relationships that have been forged with the local market in the past.
