Acer introduces 16" and 18" notebooks

Acer is first to market with new 16 inch and 18.4 inch size notebooks, with the launch of the Acer Aspire 8920 and Aspire 6920.

The new notebooks, the first in this size bracket, build on Acer's succeful Gemstone design, with a new enhanced Gemstone Blue design, Blu-Ray disc drive and full high definition LCD screens.

Both models incorporate 5.1 Dolby Home Theatre with CineSurround and Tuba CineBass Booster, with native 16:9 screen resolution. They also include a CineDash media console, situated to the left of the keyboard, which controls multimedia functions, and an Acer CrystalEye webcam.

Three models will be available initially, the 18 inch 8920, running an Intel Core 2 Duo 8300 processor with 640GB HDD, up to 4GB of RAM, and NVIDIA GeForce 9650GM integrated graphics, which retails for AED 7,499 ($2,041); and two 16 inch models, using the Intel Core 2 Duo T5750 with up to 4GB RAM and NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GS graphics and either a DVD-RW and 250GB HDD for AED 4,999 ($1,361) or Blu-ray drive and 320GB HDD for AED 6,999 ($1,906).

They can't call it "Notebook"??? for me notebook shouldn't be more 14"; expecting to have max. 1 working hour with this BIG screen :-(
