Edutech rolls out eLearning Centre for Hashemite University

Edutech has completed the roll out of an eLearning Centre for the Hashemite University (HU) in Jordan.

The eLearning Centre, which combines a range of education technology solutions, will provide a virtual learning environment for distance learning and for students who need to take additional courses.

Dr Abdelrahim Hunaiti, president of Hashemite University, said: "The newest development in the systems implemented at the Hashemite University through the eLearning Centre reflects our deep resolve to reach more young individuals and provide them with the best quality education through means that are most interesting and easily accessible to them.

"Utilising Edutech's technologies personifies our belief that we have entered an era where traditional education should be combined with technologically advanced means to cross geographical boundaries and benefit a larger student base. We are proud to be the home of the first eLearning Centre in the region, and we commend Edutech for providing cutting edge solutions that entail convenience for both student and teacher, thereby aiding us engage them in a stimulating learning experience," he added.

The eLearning Centre has been designed to create a simulated classroom environment, that will provide online access to a range of editorial content. The systems includes an Integrated Learning Management System from Blackboard; Tegrity Content Capture System, Elluminate's Synchronous Collaboration Tool, Lectora Content Development Tool, online Testing and Assessment Tool from QuestionMark Perception and a bespoke web-based registration system.

Edutech provided consultancy and content development services for the project, working with professors to turn live lessons into digital content. The two have also set up a helpdesk to support students, and Edutech has also provided Robotel Smartclass Solution and Clarity software for language labs at HU.
