HP has launched its Digital Hospital Infrastructure in the Middle East. The Digital Hospital Infrastructure comprises a range of solutions that are intended to give healthcare institutions better access to information to enhance the delivery of healthcare services.

The solutions were launched as part of the Riyadh Military Hospital IT Technology Week, which HP sponsored.

Among the solutions in the portfolio are wireless devices to keep doctors and nurses in touch with patients and informed of changes to patient status; a Patient Portal with TFT touchscreen display that gives patients access to information, services such as telephony, internet access and entertainment; Collaborative Care videoconferencing; data acquisition and digital forms that allow data collection via HP Digital Pen and Paper or tablet PC; Integrated Modularized Administrative Technical Information System (IMATIS) to centralize and manage hospital information; and high performance, secure networking and archiving solutions.

Ammar Al Dhobaie, marketing manager, Technology Solution Group, HP Saudi Arabia said: "The RMH IT Technology Week gives HP the opportunity to influence healthcare decision makers in Saudi throughout its Digital Hospital Infrastructure solutions and services. HP's framework of products and services will allow healthcare providers to develop their IT structure, thus increasing patient/customer satisfaction. Digital Hospital unites people, processes and technologies into a coherent whole."
