El-Dalu is ‘going large’ at GITEX Technology Week this year, with the rollout of new wide-format printer solutions.

This year's GITEX Technology Week will see Epson's regional boss, Khalil El-Dalu, ‘going large', as he and his team roll out the firm's new large-format printers and work to further boost the company's exposure at the region's leading technology trade show.

As printer vendor and the self-proclaimed largest player in the Middle East projector market, Epson's team is keen to draw the attention of the region's outdoor agencies and players to its very latest, wide-format output device.

"This is a new printer product that the market has been waiting for, for a long time," Khalil El-Dalu claims. "Usually the maximum we have is 44-inches and this year we decided to go to 60-inches, so that is something special for the show."

El-Dalu is no stranger to the popular exhibition, as Epson Middle East has attended GITEX for the past nine years.

Although El-Dalu and his team do attend other exhibitions in the region, he claims GITEX Business Solutions is still by far the company's most important event. "We put a lot of investment into it," [GITEX Technology Week] he explains.

As general manager of Epson Middle East, Khalil El-Dalu is responsible for target setting, market analysis and forecasting, as well as the company's general strategy. It is his knowledge and appreciation of the Middle East market's intricacies that have contributed in large measure to Epson's growing presence here and the increasing popularity of its innovative print and digital imaging technologies.

El-Dalu originally joined Epson as corporate sales manager for the Middle East, a role in which he was responsible for understanding the requirements of the corporate market, and also those of the government and petroleum sectors. He was also tasked with monitoring the competition and generating business opportunities, particularly in the Gulf states. Prior to that, El-Dalu was an Electrical Engineering graduate from Tennessee State University. He then gained extensive experience in electrical engineering during his long tenures with Al Sarraf Computer Services in Kuwait and the Lawrence Electronics Corporation in the US, where he worked in the fields of products, sales and maintenance, as design engineer and senior technical manager.
