Egyptian software services company ITWorx has won a global award from Microsoft for its work for UAE telecom operator du. ITWorx was announced as the 2007 Microsoft Custom Development Solutions Partner of the Year, Web Development, at Microsoft's Worldwide Partner Conference in Colorado.

The Microsoft Gold certified partner won the award for its work in developing du's "055 My Number" booking application, an online service that enabled would-be du customers to reserve new phone numbers ahead of the launch of du's mobile telecoms service. The application was used to register some 750,000 respondents, with over 100,000 booking requests being made in the first two days of operation.

ITWorx Portal Practice team developed the solution, which was based on the Microsoft .NET platform and Microsoft SQL, using Visual Studio.

Wael Amin, President of ITWorx said: "We are extremely proud to be recognized by Microsoft for the Custom Development Solutions, Web Development Partner of the Year Award. This award reconfirms what our customers have long known - that they had chosen one of the best Microsoft partners in Web Development Solutions in the world."

The 2007 Microsoft Partner Program Awards honored Microsoft Partners for development of Microsoft-based applications, with winners chosen from more than 1,800 entrants worldwide.
