LG will release 4K TV this September

The TV generates images at a resolution of 3840 x 2160, nearly 8 million pixels per frame

LG's 84-inch ‘ultra-definition' 4K TV will launch worldwide this September.

The LG UD 3D TV was first seen at CES and drew a lot of attention, with its 3D sound and integrated 2.2 channel speakers. Not to mention, at 3840 x 2160 pixels, the TV produces over 8 million pixels per frame, using LG's Triple XD engine.  

The 4K TV market is still in the early stages, but LG's TV is testament that the Korean giant is ready to grab a piece of the pie.

"The 4K display market is still in its infancy but it was important for LG to claim a stake in this space," said Havis Kwon, president and CEO of LG Electronics Home Entertainment Company.

The TV also has ‘Resolution Upscaler Plus' that can take images from external sources like hard drives and websites and render them in higher detail.
