ASUS have launched the ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity, the world's first full HD Android tablet. The device has a 1920x1200 Super IPS+ display with Corning Gorilla Glass 2, the hardest and most resilient second-generation Gorilla glass for smartphone and tablet displays.
The Transformer Pad Infinity has a mobile dock which features a full QWERTY keyboard, multi-touch touchpad, USB and SD card ports and extends the battery life of the tablet from 9.5 hours to 14 hours. The device runs on Android 4.0 and has an 8MP rear camera with auto-focus and LED flash. The camera is also capable of recording video in full HD 1080p at 30fps. At the front of the device is a 2MP front facing camera, which is ideal for video conferencing.
The tablet is available with either 32GB or 64GB of internal storage. Its forged aluminum construction allows it to measure just 8.5mm thin and weigh 598g. The metallic spun design finish is in keeping with ASUS' Zen design scheme, first unveiled with the Zenbook and Transformer Pad Prime. Colours available are Amethyst Grey and Champagne Gold.
Leon Yu, regional MD, ASUS said: "Running the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, the ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity offers unrivaled performance and flexibility with advanced multitasking, rich notifications, customizable home screens and deep interactivity. Combine this with the blisteringly fast NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core CPU, Full HD Super IPS+ display, ultra-slim design and beautiful metallic spun finish, and the Transformer Pad Infinity makes the perfect mobile entertainment companion."
The ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity will be available across the region later this year.
