Channel companies and executives honoured at fifth Channel Middle East Awards

The successes of the region's IT channel industry were celebrated last night at the Westin Hotel in Dubai, as Channel Middle East held its fifth annual awards.
The event, held alongside a gala dinner, attracted over 350 executives from the vendor, distributor, reseller and retailer community across the region, where they were recognised for their achievements and commitment to the development of the regional channel over the past 12 months.
Twenty-two awards were presented and they recognised the companies, partner programmes and individuals that have done the most to build and improve the Middle East channel business.
Highlights of the award included Hesham Tantawi, vice president of Asbis Middle East and Africa, recognised as Channel Executive of the Year, while Dubai Computer Group's Shailendra Rughwani was awarded for Outstanding Contribution to the Middle East Channel.
In the reader-voted categories, selected via online polling by the readers of Channel Middle East and Channel Arabic, and ITP.net, Redinton Gulf won the award for Best Growth Initiative by a Distributor for its pioneering initiative the Redington's Value-Partner Connect Program, while HP took Best Vendor Partner Programme for its PartnerOne Program and Nandini Sapru of Comguard Middle East, was voted the Best Sales Person of the Year.
Amin Mortazavi, general manager, IPG Division at HP Middle East, the platinum sponsor of the event, delivered the keynote address.
