The importance of Sustainable Building practices is imperative for the industry for two reasons. The first is the priority to conserve the environment for sustainable growth. This is now beyond debate. But as importantly, itis one of the most vital success factors for the industry in the years to come. Tomorrow’s leaders among the developers and construction companies will not be rewarded for merely having expressed the highest ambitions. Their success will ultimately be determined on the results they deliver.

The ongoing surge forward on pursuing sustainable practices in construction is unrestrained in the Middle East. The efforts though seem to be judged on proclaiming good intentions as much as delivering significant endpoints. Distinguishing between rhetoric that is wishful and idealistic from viable alternatives is needed. Achieving Sustainability in Construction is a science where scrutiny of facts must prevail as the main focus.
