JUDGING OF AWARDS

After the closing date for submissions all nominations will be collected and reviewed by the judging panel. Each award winner will be decided by consensus among the judges and no correspondence will be entered into by outside parties. Judging will be based on the strength of the submissions together with a review of the nominee’s activities in the area of nomination.

Yousef Alshaer

ASHRAE Falcon Chapter (AFC)

Yousef Alshaer is a mechanical engineering graduate with a Master’s in Project Management. He has over 25 years’ professional, engineering, project management and business management experience in a variety of environments. He is currently serving as the president of ASHRAE Falcon Chapter (AFC). He has contributed to the success of various management teams and established a network of contacts and strong co-operation with key government personnel, institutions, developers, consultants and international companies.

Aslan Al-Barazi Executive Director
IMEC Electro Mechanical Engineering

IMEC Electro Mechanical Engineering has been present in the region for 37 years, pursuing some of the latest technological innovations in the HVAC/district cooling market. Executive director Aslan Al-Barazi has a Master’s degree in mechanical engineering from George Washington University of the US. He has been spearheading the company’s market growth, based on a strategy of continuous innovation, since taking over his father, Fahed Al-Barazi, in 2002. Aslan is an acknowledged local expert in cooling tower technology, ventilation and thermal ice storage technologies.

Design Director Building Services (Dubai Office)
ATKINS

Keith is highly experienced in most forms of building design in respect of building services integration and design. In his role as Design Director for Building Services for the Atkins office in Dubai, he is responsible for managing the building services design office across all disciplines. The role also requires detailed co-ordination and management during the handover of projects from the design team to the site application team and, in many instances, providing a watching brief over site works during periods of design/statutory authority change. In addition to this daily management role, Keith also provides technical direction for the Dubai office in terms of overall design co-ordination and collaboration, to ensure a seamless integration of passive and active engineering solutions for all buildings.
