Award Nominations

The Middle East Architect Awards is open to individuals, companies and organisations working in the Middle East. Nominations can be made via the Awards website or by posting entries to the editor (see contacts page) up until the closing date of 18.00 on Wednesday 10th September 2008.

Nominations can be made by completing a short nomination form and submitting it with the appropriate material (see below). Each application will then be assessed and judged by a panel of judges, selected from within the architecture industry.

To support your nomination, please include evidence from the past 12 months.

A shortlist of nominations will be selected and award winners announced and presented at a gala dinner on Wednesday 8th October 2008.

How to complete an Award Nomination

Each award nomination must include the following items:

1) A completed Awards Nomination and Data Information Form - FORM 1

Word Format

Written submission (in Microsoft word) of a maximum length of 1,000 words to support the nomination. The written submission must include all relevant information the judges can use to evaluate a nomination against each of the criteria of the award.

Nominations must be made on plain white A4 paper clearly stating the Award category and must be a word-processed document in 1 ½ line spacing and applications must be no more than 1,000 words.

2) A PowerPoint submission - (This is optional but desirable)

A PowerPoint submission of a maximum length of 4 slides highlighting pictures and graphics to support your written submission. The PowerPoint slides should be relevant to the specific Award submission.

Please note all submissions and PowerPoint presentations need to be submitted and reach ITP before 6 pm on Wednesday 10th September, 2008.

Submissions made after this date will not be accepted.

Conditions of nomination for the Middle East Architect Awards 2008

  1. All nominations must be submitted with an official entry form. Once received no nomination will be returned unless specifically requested.
  2. The organisers will not be responsible for nominations which may be damaged, lost or mislaid in the post or otherwise.
  3. The decision made by the Judging committee in relation to the selection procedure and process shall be deemed final. The organisers will not be obliged to justify their decisions or enter into any correspondence.
  4. Any information submitted by an individual or company shall be treated as confidential.
  5. Nomination applications can be submitted for more than one Award category.
  6. The Judging committee shall have the right to verify the information provided in each submission if required.
  7. Submission of an application form indicates acceptance of the Conditions of Entry
  8. All entries must be received by Wednesday 10th September, 2008.
  9. The judges' decision will be final, and the winners will be announced for the first time at a gala event to be held on the night of Wednesday 8th October 2008.
