Winners 2010

After the closing date for submissions all nominations will be collected and reviewed by the jury. Each award winner will be decided by consensus among the jury and no correspondence from outside parties will be solicited. Nominations will be judged on how closely they adhere to the submission guidelines. Projects omitted from nominations will not be considered by the jury.

*Members of the Middle East Architect jury cast votes based on their individual preferences of architectural merit. Jurists do not represent any third-party organisations or individuals.

Nathan Hones

Nathan is an architect and the general manager of Stride Treglown Abu Dhabi. Nathan has worked in the region for over six years and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Stride in the Middle East.

Yahya Jan

Yahya is Vice President and Design Director at NORR Group Consultants International Limited. Yahya studied and taught at Princeton University and practised in the US for 10 years before moving to Dubai, where he has worked for the last 14 years

George Katodrytis

George is Associate Professor of Architecture at the American University of Sharjah (AUS). He has built a number of projects in Europe and the Middle East as well as published widely on contemporary architecture, urbanism, cultural theory and digital media.

Hisham Youssef

Hisham is senior associate at Gensler in Dubai, where he is responsible for projects and business development in Egypt and North Africa. Hisham has lived and worked in Japan, Asia Pacific, the Middle East and the US. He completed his studies at Harvard and Columbia.

Daniel Hajjar

Daniel is the vice president at HOK Dubai. Daniel has 22 years experience as an architect, and has been with HOK for over a decade, prior to which he was the principal in his own practice. Daniel received his undergraduate and graduate degrees in Architecture from the University of Manitoba.
