Conference Overview

Construction Week is proud to present the GCC Leadership Summit on Labour in Construction. The event will feature highly interactive discussion-driven sessions. We are bringing together the key Policymakers, Government Officials and HR-Directors, alongside Senior Management Representatives from primarily Construction companies and Developers. In addition, Suppliers, Consultants, Banks and International Union Organizations will be represented.

The pressure from demands on HR operations keeps increasing to levels that go well beyond good recruitment and retention policies. Today, HR and management of labour have a substantial and direct impact on not only profitability, but also the reputation of both individual companies, and in extension, reflecting on the whole region.

The construction industry in the GCC has been pioneering role models in most respects by proving time and again the ability to conquer the most complex of problems. Among the many challenges faced in GCC construction today, labour management is the most multifaceted. Construction Week’s “CSR in Labour Management” will inspire and lead to paths of progress where focus on solution is maximized with complication or dissension can quickly be addressed and resolved.

Testimonials
“It is no longer a money issue; it is the way employers perceive their employees and vice versa. We have to stop considering our employees as a cost center, children to be punished and controlled. If we believe that our employees are our main asset, convert them to become business partner rather than employees, if we share with them decisions that directly impact their lives, families and future; then attracting, retaining and developing our workforce will become a day to day activity rather than a challenge.”

Ayman Nadim
Group Human Resources Director

" One of the greatest risk facing the industry in the UAE is labour. Companies must recognize the importance and take action."
