An Introduction to the 5th Annual
BICSI Middle East and Africa Conference and Exhibition

Registration for this conference will take place from 8am on Sunday 11th of June 2006.  All participants are encouraged to attend as near to 8am as possible. The conference will commence promptly at 9am.

The Exhibition stands will be open from 8am and refreshments will be served.



The BICSI Middle East & Africa District - 2006 Conference, the only event of its kind in Middle East and Africa, will be held on 11th-12th June 2006 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It is an opportunity to learn more about the developments in the information transport systems industry, to hear excellent presentations and if you are a BICSI RCDD/NTS/OSP/WD member, to earn continuing education credits (CECs).

This is the fifth conference offered in Middle East & Africa by BICSI, the not-for-profit association serving the information transport systems industry. With speakers, who are well-respected professionals representing diverse companies and various components of the industry, from Middle East, Africa, Europe and the Americas participating, the conference is set to give attendees a unique perspective on the future shape of the regional information transport systems industry.

Conference sessions will provide leading-edge technical information that is timely, unbiased and relevant to the Middle East & Africa market place. Open to BICSI members and non-members, this event encompasses the latest in voice, data, and video technology in commercial and residential buildings. Industry professionals will present topics related to information transport systems such as fibre versus copper, wireless, Gigabit Ethernet and beyond, electronic safety and security, environmental and building controls, international standards that define activity within the industry and emerging technologies.

Conference Brief
The conference will feature 14 technical presentations. Participants will receive a CD-ROM of PowerPoint presentations at the conclusion of the conference. Presentations will cover subjects from various topics that are relevant to the professionals in the information transport systems industry in Middle East & Africa. The Conference programme will commence at 8.30am each day and conclude at 5.30pm.

Conference Fees
The fee for the Conference is US$ 250 for current BICSI members if they register and pay before Friday 14th April 2006 and US$350 thereafter and non-members of BICSI will pay US$ 350 if they register and pay before 14th April 2006 and US$ 450 thereafter.

BICSI is a not-for-profit association supporting designers and installers of information transport systems for residential, commercial, and government applications. This industry supports not only voice and data, including outside plant and LAN, but also audio, video, life safety, and automation systems. Each year, BICSI's professionals attend this Annual Conference to hone their skills and knowledge, network with peers, and earn credits necessary to maintain certification as BICSI registered designers and installers.

Continuing education credits (CECs) for this conference will be awarded to BICSI RCDD, RCDD/NTS Specialist, and RCDD/OSP Specialist.

The BICSI Middle East and Africa Conference will have the following continuing education credits awarded to participants who attend the two-day programme. CEC's will be awarded as follows:

RCDD – 12
NTS – 9
OSP – 2
WD – 3
Installer Level 2 & Technician – 2

A certificate of attendance will also be awarded to all registered conference participants and distributed at the conclusion of the conference.
