RE: Opinion - “Farewell the mobile power user”, published on www.ITP.net, September 7, in which the future of notebook use is queried in light of them possibly being banned by airlines following terrorist threats and batteries that burst into flames.

Dear Editor,
Thanks for the continued informative articles in ACN and on the web – I thought you’d like to see this as a follow on from your comments on notebooks being banned by airlines … http://hardware.silicon.com/desktops/0,39024645,39162510,00.htm

Two days later:

Dear Editor,
Hey – it’s getting worse!!

(Lenovo laptop latest to go up in flames)

And then:

Dear Editor,
The image of someone running up the boarding ramp of a plane with a smoldering laptop really is an alarming one, and a recognisable development. Perhaps we should look at (quickly) developing some flame retardant laptop bags, then when all airlines are ready to make a statement we could then offer all those busy execs an alternative.
Joking apart – what you think?

Justin Doo

Is anyone else worried about all this?
