UAE retail giant Kamal Osman Jamjoom (KOJ) has picked services firm Enabler Wipro as an implementation partner for its multi-million dollar infrastructure overhaul.

KOJ, which holds the franchises for The Body Shop and the Early Learning Centre, has already awarded Oracle the software contract for the US$13.6million project and will have Enabler deploy modules from the software firm’s Retail and E-Business Suite solution sets in three phases starting in April.

The first phase will include Oracle Retail Merchandising System, Retail Sales Audit, and Financials and is expected to last between nine and 12 months. The second will see Oracle HR and Oracle Marketing deployed over six months, with the final phase expected to last between 12 to 15 months and include the implementation of a number of other modules.

Thameem Rizvon, group IT manager at KOJ, told IT Weekly that the firm opted for Enabler — a subsidiary of Indian services giant Wipro — because of its strength in implementing Oracle Retail. “They had global experience in implementing these solutions in similar retailers plus they had the strength of implementing projects of large scale infrastructure,” he said. Rizvon added KOJ was considering Enabler for a second contract to provide a network backbone upgrade.
