Mobile operator Fastlink has launched the popular BlackBerry wireless handheld device in Jordan.

Teaming up with Research in Motion (RIM) and its local partner Emitac Mobile Solutions, Fastlink will offer the Blackberry Enterprise Server and Blackberry 8700g smartphone to corporate customers.

“Jordan is witnessing an economic boom with new investments and businesses that have an urgent need for solutions that address the fast-paced life and competitive environment they operate in. BlackBerry can help businesses outperform their competition by increasing user productivity and efficiency, and enhancing customer service,” Fastlink CEO Said Nasir said.

“We are proud to be the first mobile service provider in Jordan to provide our corporate customers with such a differentiated service,” he added.

BlackBerry’s first regional launch was in the UAE in May last year. It subsequently launched in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.
