Computer giant Dell has announced it is building a new US$200million facility in Poland to expand its manufacturing operations in Europe.

The facility will complement Dell’s main manufacturing outlet, which is in Ireland, the company said.

Dell said the new plant, which is expected to open in Autumn and which will employ 1,000 people, would support increased demand in the Central and Eastern Europe regions.

Dell claimed that the new factory would be among the most advanced worldwide, offering improved flow of material and newly-designed ergonomic manufacturing cells.

Customers in Central, Nordic and Eastern Europe can expect a reduction of at least two days over current system delivery times once the plant is operational, the company said.
