Network-attached storage (NAS) vendor Buffalo Technology has updated its TeraStation product line.

The TeraStation Pro II is designed for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) and home office users and is available in capacities of 1Tbyte and 2Tbyte.

The Pro II features a high-speed processor and four SATA drives, delivering data transfer rates of up to 35MBps, which Buffalo said was comparable to a USB 2.0 hard drive.

Buffalo’s latest NAS device features five operating modes, which it claimed offered improved data redundancy options for business users.

The TeraStation Pro II includes the standard mode and Raid modes 0, 1, 5 and 10. Buffalo said the advanced Raid features deliver e-mail warnings, scheduled Raid checks and continuous monitoring of the file system.

Buffalo Technology, said the Pro II was the “ideal solution” to help SMBs deal with the growing volume of data they were accumulating.
