Two well-known channel faces have chosen the New Year period to begin new challenges in the market.

Samsung's sales and marketing manager for digital IT products K.V. Narayanan has accepted a post at HP while Tech Data's marketing manager Aman Sangar has joined Microsoft Gulf's entertainment and devices division in a channel marketing role.

Narayanan joined HP last month where he is reporting directly to SPO boss Salim Ziade. "He has joined us as an account manager for distribution in the UAE and Gulf," revealed Ziade. "He will manage the distribution companies and look after our distribution strategy in the Middle East."

Narayanan's former job at Samsung has been handed to Anupam Brila, who previously managed advertising and promotions in the same division.

Meanwhile, Sangar has left the distribution sector to sample life on the other side of the fence with Microsoft. "This is the chance for a new opportunity so I thought I would try something different," he said.
