Avaya has warned unified communications is a “pressing business concern” in the Middle East.

The telecom equipment maker’s managing director for the region, Nidal Abou Ltaif, said organisations in the Middle East currently had communications systems that were “fragmented and diverse” and the increase in electronic communications such as e-mail and internet access made addressing this problem a priority.

“What is urgently required is a means to deliver the right applications to the right devices for various segments of workers... to help employees improve productivity,” said Ltaif. “Increased business travel, the need for constant e-mail and internet access, and the growing numbers of people who work remotely all make unified communications a pressing business concern for the region.”
