Security vendor Webroot Software has signed Fusion Distribution to market its solutions in the Middle East. The Dubai-based wholesaler will help Webroot reach out to regional SMB customers that want enterprise level antispyware products.

Daniel Mothersdale, EMEA marketing director at Webroot, said: "In the SMB and enterprise market, keeping costs low and ensuring that the business is running efficiently is key. Companies cannot afford to be losing revenue or wasting time due to malicious software infecting their systems. Our new relationship with Fusion will provide easy access to our award winning products for this marketplace and we look forward to increasing our focus in this market moving forward."

The US-based security provider claims Fusion's knowledge of the security field - where it already works with vendors such as Kaspersky and RSA - will help it to identify key resellers in the region and ensure that customers have access to a best of breed anti-spyware platform.

Research carried out by Webroot shows that most organisations in EMEA have been victim of a malware attack at some point.

Its findings state that the business implications of such attacks are becoming increasingly serious and create a number of issues such as reduced employee productivity, disrupted business activities and lost sales.
