IT colossus IBM plans to open a new centre in Dubai designed to address the growing regional demand for the skills needed to solve business problems using service oriented architectures (SOA).

IBM believes that customers, business partners and university students will all benefit from the launch of the SOA leadership centre in the UAE - one of eight such centres planned around the world.

"Opening these centres is a direct response to what our customers are demanding," commented Jason Weisser, VP and chief technology officer, SOA advance technology at 330,000-strong IBM.
