Saudi Telecom Company (STC) has selected WebMethods technology to help it process its annual revenue of around US$2 billion. STC is a major telecommunications provider in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia offering landline, mobile and internet services.

The company first teamed up with WebMethods, a business integration and optimisation software provider, in 2003 for the deployment of an integration platform that helped improve its customer services.

"At the time, WebMethods had the clearest vision and product roadmap, and was particularly well suited for the ambitious performance improvement goals that we set for ourselves," said Sultan Jerais Al Jerais, EAI (enterprise application integration) director for the STC. "This remains the case today. WebMethods has also performed well in terms of the local support that they've been able to offer us, which has helped to ensure our consistent success over the past several years. The richness and adaptability of their platform, combined with its scalability, have ultimately helped us demonstrate significant return on investment for the projects that we pursue internally."

STC has developed and deployed over 200 distinct web services using the WebMethods platform. Paul Hammond, general manager at WebMethods Middle East and North Africa, explained: "Our success with key accounts like the STC is also helping to establish WebMethods as a leading presence in the Middle East.
