EMC Corporation has acquired US-based IT security company Network Intelligence in a deal valued at US$175 million. Network Intelligence’s products deliver alerts for possible security breaches, as well as analysing network performance.

EMC also announced that it has completed the acquisition of digital security company RSA Security, which it bought for approximately US$2.1 billion. It first announced the purchase of RSA Security in June.

The two newly-acquired firms will be housed in EMC’s new security division which it has set up to expand its security operations.
