Toshiba is the latest company to recall laptop batteries that have been manufactured by Sony.

The company said it was recalling 340,000 batteries installed in its Dynabook and Satellite series, which were on sale between March and May this year, after concerns over the batteries’ ability to recharge and store power.

The recall regards the same Sony lithium-ion batteries that have already been recalled by Apple Computer and Dell over fears that they may pose a fire risk.

Toshiba said it had not received reports of explosions or heating problems related to the batteries but still had concerns over their performance.
