Mobility gets delivered

Aramex has spent around US$1.5million equipping couriers with wireless handheld scanners.

Ground staff working for the transportation services company in Jordan, Lebanon and the Gulf countries have been given the mobile devices, which enable customers to have real-time information on the delivery status of their items.

"We have invested large resources in deploying this technology that enables us to oversee the entire delivery process from start to finish. All our centres have been provided with the new systems and the staff have been trained to deliver accurate and efficient performance," Aramex chief technology officer Samer Awajan explained.

Aramex logistics and ground services vice president Iyad Kamal added: "The new system is highly appreciated by our clients, especially those in the banking sector. It provides them with instantaneous delivery updates of their invoices and credit card deliveries, enhancing efficiency."
